I am the official Son of Rust groupie!!!
So anyway, we went to the Catwalk Club in downtown Seattle because Justin's band Son of Rust was playing. This was their first really big deal, as they were opening for Iris and Cause and Effect. Justin and Ben were looking quite nervous before the show.... Apparently they said they are never nervous as the same time though.. They take turns. I guess in this picture it was Justin's turn, either that or the Chesire Cat grin on Ben's face is also glued on there not to show his fear. :P We managed to make it there pretty early, they were still doing the sound checks, so we decided to go across the street and get some food at McCoy's Firehouse. I was already pretty dorky and camera happy, so I didn't manage to take a picture of what I ate this time, but trust me it was amazing. I got a steak, wrapped in bacon and a baked potato for $10!!! It was cooked just right and tasted fantastic. My only complaint about McCoy's was that their service was really really slow. Justin and Ben barely got to eat their food before they had to go on, and I believe I saw my waiter outside checking out a Harley while we were still waiting on drinks....
The show was phenominal. I don't know what else to say. It was a smaller venue than I expected, but everyone seemed to be into the music, which was great, since most of the people at the show came for Iris or Cause and Effect. I certanly hope that Justin and Ben get a break because I really think they have a shot. They're truely talented.
Here's me having a groupie moment with Justin and Ben.
Admittedly I had never heard of Iris, but I was very impressed. I really liked them and I think I will go out and get their CD. I know I'd heard of Cause and Effect, but I didn't remember anything they did till they started their set. Then I remembered them and remembered that I liked them. :)
I had quite a few drinks and got super friendly.... I made friends with this girl Shaunna and hopefully she will come down and hang out sometime. It was a great show and we had a blast.
There was talk of an after-party, but it didn't quite pan out, so Eldon and I found a hotel just outside of Seattle to crash at, so as not to disturb my aunt at 4am... Honestly I don't think I could have made the hour drive that late anyway.

You rock, Brandy! Thanks a million again for coming up and cheering us on. Your friendly face (and those other three) were the only thing keeping me from projectile vomiting chile all over the stage in terror. Your pics are up on the SoR site.
