Cinco de Mayo...

More like quatre de el perro, or la perra... depending on the gender....

I didn't go out drinking for the celebrated drinking holiday. Instead, I spent time with seemingly the only ones who can tolerate me lately.... dogs.

I started out the day taking Wesley and Gabby to the dog park. As usual, they had fun.

Gabby Played.

Wesley claimed as many tennis balls as he could get in his mouth.

Gabby layed in the water bowl.

A good time was had by both.
Then I went to work... worked with more dogs. Helped a lady who had a 13 week old pit puppy who was used as "bait" for people who were trying to mold some other pits to fight. She managed to report those people to animal control, they were arrested, the dogs confiscated, and she kept the scarred up and scared little pup. She was so terrified she wouldn't walk anywhere. I managed to show the lady how to get the dog to walk on leash, and within minutes her and the pup were wandering around the store as if nothing had ever happened to the pup at all. :)
After work, Amy brought Paris and Cesar over to my place to play with Wesley and Gabby, while we watched the episode of South Park where they implemented the Dog Whisperer to fix Cartman's behavioral problems... by far one of my personal favorite South Park episodes ever!
It was very crowded, but so much fun to have 4 dogs in my apartment. It was interesting to watch the interaction, and how pack mentality plays a role in their behavior. Wesley and Cesar were very calm, and Gabby and Paris were really hyper. A couple of times, I crated Gabby, and Paris calmed down. We switched, and crated Paris, and Gabby calmed down. Only when Gabby and Paris were both out, did Cesar get hyper and Wesley got irritated. Wesley doesn't like hyper dogs... and they were in his house.

There is a special place in hell for people who fight dogs. I’m so happy to hear the pup was rescued.
