Dog tired...and in heat

Ever since I got full time hours at work, I've been working like crazy. This means spending a lot of time dealing with everything dog. I absolutely love my job, but I haven't worked this much in a while. I've been completely wiped out, and so have my dogs! The benefit of working with animals is that I get to bring my dogs to work. This is great because they aren't neglected the more I work. Monday I took Wesley to work with me for the entire day. 9 hours is a long time for a dog. The fact that one of my students Kristi, a German Shepherd was in heat didn't help, because Wesley was out of his mind for the whole hour. He was so exhausted and grumpy Monday night.

Today I decied to alternate. I took Rikka in the morning, and at lunch I went home and dropped her off and picked up Wes... I guess I should have done it the other way around, because as it turned out, Peaches, the Rat Terrier in my 7:30 class was ALSO in heat! DOH!

I really have to get Wesley's hips OFA certified to see if he's got a good enough rating to warrant him breeding, because if not, I'm going to neuter him and save myself a whole lot of whining and marking.
