Happy Halloween!

I spent my Halloween divided between work and school, so there was no dressing up for me.

BUT.. I did dress up my good buddy Jack for Halloween while I took him around campus.

What else could I possibly make him for Halloween, but his namesake?

Say hello to Captain Jack Sparrow!

Great America

We had another day or rather I had another day in Cali before heading home. Eldon had never been to an amusement park, and we were staying within walking distance of Paramount's Great America.. so we HAD to go.
As such, he'd never been on a REAL rollercoaster. That was the first order of business!

We went on a few more rides..

including a water one where we got drenched!

Then came one of the scariest things I've ever done...
Imagine being hoisted up 16 stories by your back, and then dropped and flying through the air!
It was AWESOME!!! But I have to admit I was completely terrified when we got to the top.

I had a great time. Eldon did too. Even the shopping was fun. :P

We headed back and I took a cab to the airport. Eldon had an install the next day, so he was staying in Cali for a few more days. I had to be home in time for work and school the next day. It was a fun little mini vacation.

Simply Beautiful....

I'm referring to Kathryn's wedding...

Eldon and I hopped on a plane Saturday morning. Not sure if we were still drunk or just plain exhausted, neither of us actually even made it through take-off before passing out for the whole flight to San Jose.

We arrived around noon and had to take a taxi to the hotel. We stayed at a really nice hotel, a million times better than the place we were given for the last California trip!

We saw the bed, and couldn't resist catching a few more Z's before the wedding, since it was at 5pm and we didn't want to look like the zombies we felt like.

We got to the church a bit early, and realized that the airplane baggie of 4 pretzels was not going to tide us over till the reception. We walked down to the convenience store on the corner, all dolled up for the wedding, and we both needed an energy drink. The dirty old man at the counter looks at our purchases of power bars and energy drinks and says to Eldon, "If you need energy bars and drinks when you've got her.. you have issues!" We both just laughed. Then he says, "I just mean you look very nice.." and then he turns to Eldon and says, "I'd say you look nice too, but this isn't the Castro District."

Eldon found the best Sobe ever.. Sobe Superman!

So here's some of my favorite pictures from the wedding. It was a beautiful ceremony. Short and sweet. One of the bridesmaids asked me if I needed tissues before the wedding. I said no. I made it to the vows, and I was fine, until I saw Kathryn's husband-to-be giving his vows, voice shaking and he started to get weepy eyed. That's when I realized the tears were streaming down my face. I was so happy for her. She really deserves all the happiness in the world, and a man that loves her that much.

The reception was great too. Simply beautiful place called the Decathlon Club.

We couldn't wait for the food! We sat at a table close to the bridal party table and the adorable little flower girl was at our table. She was fun.

They had the traditional dances..
Husband and wife..

Father and daughter...

and I even tried to catch the bouquet... but I didn't. :P

The best part for me, was when Kathryn played a song from our childhood just for me.
We had to "Bust a Move" on the dance floor together and sang every word, laughing the entire time. I even got Eldon to dance with me.

I'm so glad I made it out for her wedding...Unfortunately, it also got me thinking about my future. It's looking like the "Dog Lady" will resurface. Always the guest at the wedding, never the bridesmaid OR the bride. Ah well... at least I'll have the dogs. :)

Freaks and Geeks...

Aka: Awesome Halloween Bash at Eldon's.
Basically.. there isn't much that can be said except for great people and great costumes. The pictures say it all....

Eldon went all out on the decorations,

and as such, his fog machine actually set off the smoke alarm!

Although Justin's costume was hillarious... in fact I didn't recognize him at first. Neither did Geoff. This is him realizing that the "Super Geek" standing next to him was in fact, Justin.

Ben wins best costume of the night though...
He went as friggin' ASH! He even had a boom stick and a chainsaw.

Which he promptly used on Geoff.

When Simon arrived, it seems he went as the male counter part to my costume. I wasn't aware there was one. :P

Geoff became "bewitched" by Nivarni, because she's the only other person we all know who actually GOES to see Bollywood flicks!

I found myself handcuffed to Josh, compliments of Emily (who managed to escape all the cameras!)

Eldon had a good time with his caveman club....

The rum punch was delicious.

'Nuff said.

We ended up getting a whole two hours of sleep before having to get up and get on a plane...
