Simply Beautiful....

I'm referring to Kathryn's wedding...

Eldon and I hopped on a plane Saturday morning. Not sure if we were still drunk or just plain exhausted, neither of us actually even made it through take-off before passing out for the whole flight to San Jose.

We arrived around noon and had to take a taxi to the hotel. We stayed at a really nice hotel, a million times better than the place we were given for the last California trip!

We saw the bed, and couldn't resist catching a few more Z's before the wedding, since it was at 5pm and we didn't want to look like the zombies we felt like.

We got to the church a bit early, and realized that the airplane baggie of 4 pretzels was not going to tide us over till the reception. We walked down to the convenience store on the corner, all dolled up for the wedding, and we both needed an energy drink. The dirty old man at the counter looks at our purchases of power bars and energy drinks and says to Eldon, "If you need energy bars and drinks when you've got her.. you have issues!" We both just laughed. Then he says, "I just mean you look very nice.." and then he turns to Eldon and says, "I'd say you look nice too, but this isn't the Castro District."

Eldon found the best Sobe ever.. Sobe Superman!

So here's some of my favorite pictures from the wedding. It was a beautiful ceremony. Short and sweet. One of the bridesmaids asked me if I needed tissues before the wedding. I said no. I made it to the vows, and I was fine, until I saw Kathryn's husband-to-be giving his vows, voice shaking and he started to get weepy eyed. That's when I realized the tears were streaming down my face. I was so happy for her. She really deserves all the happiness in the world, and a man that loves her that much.

The reception was great too. Simply beautiful place called the Decathlon Club.

We couldn't wait for the food! We sat at a table close to the bridal party table and the adorable little flower girl was at our table. She was fun.

They had the traditional dances..
Husband and wife..

Father and daughter...

and I even tried to catch the bouquet... but I didn't. :P

The best part for me, was when Kathryn played a song from our childhood just for me.
We had to "Bust a Move" on the dance floor together and sang every word, laughing the entire time. I even got Eldon to dance with me.

I'm so glad I made it out for her wedding...Unfortunately, it also got me thinking about my future. It's looking like the "Dog Lady" will resurface. Always the guest at the wedding, never the bridesmaid OR the bride. Ah well... at least I'll have the dogs. :)
