another visit from Jesse

Friday after I got off work I went to pick up Jesse at the airport. I took Rikka with me, as he had never met her and it was fun to carry her around in her little pink bag.
I got some of the strangest looks from the people in the terminal and since Jesse's flight was delayed a bit I talked to a family that had just come back from Orlando and were letting their little Jack Russelpuppy play around while they waited for their luggage. Rikka and the little jack puppy played for a few minutes and then I saw Jesse's baggage claim spiral begin to turn so I waited there till he finally arrived.
Both of us were pretty wiped out, me from working all day and him from working and then being on the plane for so long, but we did manage to go out for a little bit. We went to Bobby McGee's in Vancouver for a few drinks and some pool while chatting about how much he hates his job, and other various things. We managed to stay till closing and I think he's still mad at me for making him chug his Long Island before we left because they were waiting for us to leave.
Saturday I had to work for a bit, so Jesse came and watched a little bit of my classes and then wandered around the local shops nearby while I finished up. He said based on what he saw he thought I was a good teacher. :)
We went back to my apartment and he insisted I get to know his favorite TV show, The Shield, and since he brought the first season on DVD we watched a couple episodes before completely passing out.
Sunday, we got up late, watched Mr. & Mrs. Smith which I hadn't seen yet. It was amusing and fun, although not even close to believable. The ending was just sorta ridiculous, but it was obvious that the movie was just supposed to be for fun and not have any deep message in it, so it was what I expected.
Then we met up with Matt and Lenea to go see Aeon Flux. I didn't know much about the movie, all I knew was that it was an anime that was always on MTV. I never even really watched the show, so I wasn't sure what to expect. Because I didn't have any expectations, I really liked it. I knew it was futuristic and Charlize Theron was an acrobatic superheroine of somesort. It actually did have some kind of message to it and I liked it a lot. The special effects were quite well done too. Jesse and I couldn't help but make all the worst possible puns back and forth to each other during the movie, especially about the chick who had hands for feet. After the movie, we all went to Applebees for some really yummy mudslides, some bad service and even worse pasta bowls. I usually like Applebees, but their pasta alfredo bowl really wasn't that good, and the funny part is we all ordered it. We all blamed Matt. :P
After we said goodbye to Matt and Lenea, I couldn't resist the urge to take Jesse to see "stripaoke" at Devil's Point. It's just too amusing to miss. Glen, Mike and Mike's friend Suzie showed up a little later, and then we really had fun. I think the best part of the night was when Mike got up and sang "Jesse's Girl" just to mess with Jesse. It really had us rolling! Don't quit your day job, Mike! :P

We got up very late on Monday and couldn't really decide what to do, although we knew that we were starving. So I took Jesse to Chang's. He said he'd been to a place similar to it, but that Chang's was much better food. I love that place. We both got fortunes that made us laugh, as they were both quite fitting. (Inside joke folks!)
I had to go into work for an hour and graduate my intermediate class. I'm really going to miss them. Talk about 3 very good, very well disciplined dogs that just blew my mind. I hope my next intermediate class is as phenominal as these girls were.

Kristi (9mo German Shepherd), Gertie (1 yr Bernese Mtn. Dog), & Gracie (2yr Weimaraner)

We finished off the night by going to Morton's. I'd never been there before but the food was absolutely phenominal. We both sorta joked that they'd have to be pretty confident with their food and service since they call themselves THE Steakhouse. They do a "food presentation", where they brought out raw versions of everything they served so you could get a really good sense of what you wanted and how big it was going to be. I liked the idea, because it showed me the cut of steak I wanted, but it was sort of disturbing for them to put a live lobster on your table. Even if I was going to order lobster, I wouldn't want to see him alive and kicking before I ate him. Other than that, it was fantastic, and I'd highly recommend going there if you feel like splurging... Comparatively, I'd say the food and atmosphere is better than Ruth's Chris for around the same price.
That was my weekend, plus a day. I put Jesse on his plane this afternoon. Hope you had a good weekend, and a safe flight, bud. :)
