I'm so impressed with this dog's improvement. For anyone who doesn't know what I'm talking about, Cody is the black German Shepherd pup that is my problem child on Thursday nights. His change in only 3 weeks is amazing. He likes and trusts me so much that before class I took him into the grooming salon and clipped his nails and ears with absolutely NO hassle from him at all! This just flat blew my mind that he let me do this. When I first met him he wanted to bite me through his muzzle.. now the dog will let me clip his nails and clean his ears! I'm so happy for this dog. He's even doing better in class. He still doesn't know how to act around Elvis, the little Boston Terrier in his class, but he seems alright with the other dogs in the class. I'm really proud of his "mom" Shirley for working through this with him. She said that she thinks that he was neglected before she got him and that's why he has no idea how to act around people and other dogs.
I also graduated my 7:30 class, and I'm really going to miss those two. It was a Pit Bull/Golden Retriever cross named Sam who was absolutely adorable and sweet, and his counterpart, a 6 month old St. Bernard named Rocky. They were so much fun... and incredibly mellow. Half the time I had to have Rocky's parents wake him up so he could do the commands! I'll add pics to this when I get them developed.
