4th of July...

I hope everyone had a happy and safe one. I certainly did. For those of you who read my blog and must think that I'm a raging alcoholic because there is so many drinking stories, I thought it might be of interest to you to know that I did not have a single drop of alcohol to drink the entire day of this big "party holiday."

Instead, Eldon and I spent the day together along with the pack of dogs I live with. It was great. We took all three dogs down to Cannon Beach for the day. Having 3 large dogs in the back seat of my Honda Civic was certainly something, there wasn't a whole lot of room for them to move around.. but Wesley found a comfy place to rest his head while I was driving...

The dogs just had the best time running around chasing each other. It was fun to watch them just run around being crazy dogs.

Wesley couldn't wait to chase the ball into the ocean and jump the waves.

Paris wasn't so sure of the whole water thing,

but she loved chasing Wesley, so in she went too.
Cesar o n the other hand, preferred to stay ashore.
That didn't stop him from getti ng sandy and wet...
o r getting so dirty he got what I lovingly called a "crustache"...
and finally just getting so dirty there was no hope in him staying white.

Rather than getting dirty, Paris decided that her favorite thing to do on the beach was eat dead crabs. Every time I turned around, she had another friggin crab in her mouth!

Wesley was just content with his ball...
and of course his digging.

Paris got in on that action too.

Eldon tried to clean Cesar off, but it only made the clay smear, and then his whole head was brown. All we could do was laugh.

These dogs are so much fun.

I really enjoyed spending the day with Eldon too!

The best part, was that on the way home, the dogs were so wiped out they just slept. You would have had no idea that there were three big dogs in my car on the drive home. They were so cute all cuddled up!

We got back to my place early evening. The dogs passed out, and we lit off a few fireworks and went to bed. What a great day.

That IS an awesome day!

And don’t worry, raging bender stories are always the most fun to tell, so they get told more.

I wonder if Eldon has forgiven me for making him give up his dog "Lover" when he was 10 because she was too much for us to handle?
