1 more year till 30...

My birthday has never been made a huge deal of.. not since I was 6 and my dad took me to the San Diego Zoo, Unviersal Studios and Disneyland. No huge parties, no exceptional fanfare.. etc. So I didn't expect anything.

I went to school, had a test, and went home. I got a text message from Eldon telling me he was going to "come home, change into jeans and take me out." Hmm kay.. I was curious but I couldn't even fathom a guess.

I got lots of phone calls, even from people it would have been completely forgiveable if they forgot. Like Matt Louey! We dated when I was 15! We've been friends ever since, but sheesh, in 14 years, no matter what part of God's little green earth I lived on at the time, that guy has never once forgotten to call me on my birthday. Feel the love!

So when Eldon came home, I was upstairs. Wesley ran down to greet him, and he gave Wesley a card and told him, "Bring it to mommy!" Wesley came running up to me as I was coming down the stairs, with an envelope in his mouth.

I opened the card, and it was so adorable.. It had a picture of a dog on it standing in the front door, wagging his tail, and it said, "It's your birthday mom! And I haven't been this excited since..."

I opened the card and it said, ".. the last time you came through the front door! (That was great, I thought my tail would never stop wagging!) Happy Birthday from the dog.

That was so sweet.

Then, Eldon took me out to Malibu Raceway! It was tons of fun riding the go-karts, and we found that we were an even match at air-hockey!

Unfortunately, we downloaded the pictures from his camera onto Eldon's computer, he deleted them from his card, and then his hard-drive died... so I won't have access to those pictures till he replaces his hard drive. :(

We rode a dual go-kart and he said it was a whole lot scarier when you're not the one driving!

After that, we went to the cheesecake factory for dinner. He got the waitresses to sing to me.
