Double Pubbing
So I told you all that my living situation with Eldon was only temporary. While I was on the beach trip, Geoff called me and gave me the best birthday present of all. He said that his sister (whom he lives with) got a great job opportunity in Ontario, Oregon and would be moving there. So, he needed to find a roommate if he wanted to continue living in her condo.
He extended the offer to me, which of course I accepted. Happy Birthday, you now have a place to live.
So I went over to the condo on Thursday to meet my future landlord. The place isn't that much further from my job and school, definately much closer than Vancouver was! His sister, Liz, and her husband Ruban, own the condo, and plan on keeping it, just in case she doesn't like her job out there. Her contract is for a year though, so I at least have a place for the next year. Geoff and I will just be paying rent. Ruban will be staying behind a couple months to get his stuff wrapped up out here before joining her, so I will have two roommates for a bit. It's a 3 bedroom condo, so there should be enough room.
After meeting the fam... Geoff and I went for drinks at Imbrie Hall. You'll have to excuse the pics, they were taken with my phone. I don't have a good camera , and Eldon was off camping in the wilderness this weekend. I would have loved to go, but in order to get the time off for the beach trip, I had to work someone else's shifts while they worked mine. This weekend was the time for me to make up.
The best part, was when we were finished, the waitress offered to bring us the check, and Geoff piped up with, "Separate Checks please." and the waitress looked at him like he was a horrible cheapskate, then gave me a, "sorry hon, your date sucks" look. We busted up laughing when she left.
Geoff's brother Robert and his cousin Jason were at ANOTHER McMenamin's pub called Barleycorn's near their work, so we decided to migrate over there.
I met more of Geoff's family that night than I ever expected.
